Da uns der Taiwanesische Staatsfeiertag (Double Ten) einen freien Montag bescherte, flogen wir fuer ein verlaengertes Wochenende nach Penghu ("Brausende See").
Am Freitagabend landete unser Flugzeug (Typ: Dash-08) nach 40 min Flugzeit auf dem Flughafen in Makung.
Unser Hotel war wenig spektakulaer und das Fruehstueck sehr chinesisch, so dass wir gern unterwegs waren.  Dafuer haben wir jeden Abend Fisch und Seafood in allen Variationen genossen - die Portugiesen hatten recht, als sie der Inselgruppe den Namen "Pescadoren" aufgrund der hier anzutreffenden Fischvielfalt gaben.
Am ersten Tag erkundeten wir per Mietauto die drei zusammenliegende Hauptinseln und sahen einen 300 Jahre alte Banyan-Baum (der kaum noch als Baum zu erkennen ist, weil seine Wurzeln weitlaeufig verteilt sind und er mittlerweile kuenstlich gestuetzt werden muss), die Transocean Bridge, die Whale-Caves, die Ancient Houses of Erkan sowie Fort Sitai.
Jakob freute sich besonders ueber den Besuch des Aquariums.
Fuer den naechsten Tag hatten wir eine Bootstour nach Wang An gebucht, um dort eine Schildkroetenfarm und ein historisches chinesisches Dorf zu besichtigen. Leider wurde die Fahrt nach Zwischenstops auf zwei kleineren Inseln aufgrund des heftigen Seegangs abgebrochen.
Den restlichen Tag verbrachten wir dann an einem herrlich weissen Strand "Lintou Park".
